Booster hesitancy? VAIDS no longer a conspiracy theory?

Just a few months ago Reuters produced a fact-check denouncing claims about COVID-19 vaccines causing VAIDS, vaccine-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, stating that “there is no such thing”. They also reported that several experts say that “there is no science to back up the idea that frequent boosters could have a negative impact on the immune response to COVID-19”, and that “COVID-19 vaccination does not hurt the immune system”. Now Dr Jennifer Ashton, ABC News chief medical correspondent, states on the air that “it’s certainly not just about more boosting for everyone, people who have high antibody levels, there’s the potential, I want to underscore the potential, we haven’t seen any evidence of this, of this immune phenomenon known as tolerance, where if you already have high antibody levels, and you get another booster, that your immune system can start to say, ‘Well what am I needed for?’, and can kind of start to shut down. If you’re in that category of people who the FDA and CDC is recommending to get a booster, 50 and over, 65 and over, with a chronic medical condition, yes, by all means, but everyone else, don’t think that more boosting is the answer, we don’t know that that’s the case yet.” Source.

Okay then.

Note: A little extra for the inquisitive. Whether this refers to lesser effectiveness of the vaccines or full blown VAIDS, could the same phenomenon apply to those who have already survived COVID-19 (especially those who have had it more than once), thus acquiring natural immunity, and then were compelled to take the first 1-2 doses of the vaccine and/or the 1st booster shot? Should this ‘booster hesitancy’ have applied to the many multiply-infected individuals who were fired from their jobs or denied opportunities for refusing the vaccine (like Novak Djokovic)?
