COVID vs cancer
Prompting some outrage over lockdown measures on one of its social media accounts, Australia’s Seven News reports that “Breast cancer screening clinics and mobile vans have been shut down across Greater Sydney in response to the current COVID situation. It comes after mass appointment cancellations and a need to re-deploy staff to support the pandemic response.” Source.
Breast cancer kills approximately 3,000 Australians every year. Source. Approximately 45,000 to 50,000 Australians die from all forms of cancer every year. Source.
Since the start of the pandemic in early 2020 (nearly 1.5 years total) the number of Australians who have died from COVID-19 is less than 950. Source.
Okay then.
