Illegitimate elections
In January 2017 numerous Democrats objected to the Republican Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 United States presidential election, “citing Russian hacking, the legitimacy of the election and electors, voting machines, voter suppression and more”. Source. Claims of Russian interference dogged Trump’s presidency, though the long-awaited Mueller report “stated that no evidence of a conspiracy was found”. Source.
President Trump and many of his supporters would follow suit, claiming the 2020 election won by Democrat Joe Biden was stolen, commonly called a conspiracy theory by the mainstream media, who reported the election as the “most secure in American history”. Source.
Now, President Biden, within a context of the Democrats’ failure (source) to “overhaul the country’s election laws” (source), and the “ongoing slump in Biden’s popularity” (source), questioned the legitimacy of the 2022 midterm elections, which haven’t happened yet (source). Furthermore, “Vice President Kamala Harris doubled down on President Joe Biden’s refusal to say the 2022 midterms would be fair”. Source.
Okay then.
