Inflation and social media

CNBC, through their website, reports that “concerns about inflation” are “gaining steam”, “As inflation takes hold, wages may increase”, and that “incremental wage increases are unlikely to keep pace as the cost of living rises… Corporations are often slow to raise wages, especially if it’s costing them more to buy raw materials”. They further note that “a too-rapid increase in wages could prompt companies to raise prices and create the very phenomenon of inflation, causing more harm than good”. Source.

CNBC’s Twitter account, however, appears to completely invert and/or miss the point of their organisation’s own article, sharing the link to it with the short quote, “Inflation’s silver lining: higher salaries”. Source.
