Thanks for that. When I first saw that study (a report in MSM sent to me by a friend - I never generally read anything on MSM) I thought it was total BS. The only problem, the egregious Paul Kelly will in Senate estimates and elsewhere claim the jabs are so fantastic, this published paper said so, case closed.

Great job Raphael! Thank you! Nothing like assigning vaccinated people to the unvaccinated group in the 21 days after their shot, when they may perhaps be most vulnerable to covid. The study should be redone with people correctly assigned to groups of however many shots from the minute the needle enters their arm. This sneaky way of counting began with the clinical trials and has persisted in so many papers. It sounds reasonable to wait until immunity has peaked, but actually every jabbed person has to get through these 21 days so they should be included. You and Fung et al have done a great job in getting papers published calling this out as 'the counting window effect'. The study should be redone with these proper allocations but also, how about they look at all-cause mortality instead of covid deaths? That way we'll get a measure of the net benefit or harm of the vaccines. What do you think? As you say they have completely ignored thinking about any harms at all!

Given the current fashion of outright confabulation, you might enjoy this. SOP to see vaccine 'effectiveness' as a modelled variable. Rubbish in, "strong evidence" out.

It's known as 'circling the drain'. As long as the presstitutes have something to peddle, all remains solid in disinformation land.

Vaccine. 2024 Feb 27;42(6):1383-1391. The impact of Covid-19 vaccination in Aotearoa New Zealand: A modelling study. Datta S, et al.

"This study used a validated mathematical model of COVID-19 in New Zealand to assess potential counterfactual scenarios where the levels of vaccine coverage differed in age groups and ethnic cohorts. " ... "This study provides strong evidence that widespread COVID-19 vaccination saved thousands of lives in New Zealand and that existing vaccine coverage and future vaccination will continue to be important for reducing the burden of COVID-19 at a population level."
