Dutch Trump shocks elites
Hot on the heels of Australia’s Voice referendum and Milei’s presidential victory in Argentina, the so-called Dutch Trump, Geert Wilders, has claimed a seismic victory in the Netherlands, which could lead to him becoming Prime Minister, and cracking down on immigration, Islam, and his country’s membership in the EU. CNN called Wilders’ victory a shock. Source. The AP called his “massive win” a “shock for Europe”. Source. NBC News was also shocked and apparently disappointed, calling the big win “a stunning lurch to the far right for a nation once famed as a beacon of tolerance”. Source. The BBC called it a “dramatic victory”, one that would “send a shock across Europe too”. Source.
That would be the same BBC who just moments before called the Dutch election a “neck-and-neck race”, and stated that Dilan Yesilgöz, born of Turkish immigrants, “is tipped to win and become the first female Dutch prime minister”. Source. Reminiscent of a certain someone’s bigly and ‘unexpected’ win in 2016, it’s all so ‘shocking’ for the elites that own the media, and us, and don’t really listen to us about what we want, and apparently want to control every aspect of our lives and punish those that don’t comply. It’s almost as if they want to manipulate us via their biased reporting.
Okay then.
The 'elites' are always shocked when the people sideline them.....that is....people who they label as 'far right', people who just want accountability from politicians. That's the interface now, avoiding accountability/ desiring accountability. One side ruthless and dispassionate, the other clamouring for 'right' to be done. How do the 'elites' defend their 'citadel' against the growing clamour? It isn't as impregnable as they would project it.
Leftists, as opposed to nearly extinct principled liberals, apparently consider anything to the right of Karl Marx far right. But they have no trouble with AOC, who is perhaps even more ignorant than Maxine Waters. The 2 of them together haven't the brains to fill a thimble. But Leftists defend them.
