As reported by the BBC, it is commonly believed that “climate change deniers” are “stupid or uneducated”. Source. A recent study published in the influential Climatic Change journal seems to have found that the more one is educated about climate science, the less one is worried about climate change: “even after controlling for demographic characteristics, personality characteristics, and environmental attitudes, overall environmental knowledge and climate-specific knowledge were negatively related to climate change anxiety”. Source.
Okay then.
Extra: This may be similar to the situation with COVID vaccine hesitancy. The more is known about the vaccines’ trial data, and the ongoing observational data comparing COVID and non-COVID health outcomes of the jabbed and the unjabbed, the more obvious it becomes that the jabs are probably, at least now, doing more harm than good. Isn’t it interesting how actual science seems to so often conflict with The Science™?
Interestingly, there's an argument that if you keep people uneducated you can keep them scared and controllable. Seems like there may be something in the idea!
Very true.
