ABC News reports that “new research shows the number of people suffering ongoing symptoms after COVID is the same as other viral infections”, and that the “Qld chief health officer wants term ‘long-COVID’ scrapped”. Source. Australia’s 9News reports that the study shows that long COVID is “indistinguishable from seasonal influenza and other respiratory illnesses, with no evidence of increased moderate-to-severe functional limitations a year after infection”, and “found no evidence that COVID-19-positive adults were more likely to have moderate-to-severe functional limitations a year after their diagnosis than symptomatic adults who were negative for COVID-19 (3.0 per cent vs 4.1 per cent)”. Source. This aligns with our earlier report on long COVID being “equally prevalent in the infected and the non-infected”. While most mainstream news outlets outside Australia seem uninterested in this vital research, the New York Post at least gave it a mention. Source.

On just about the same day (well it is International Long COVID Awareness Day!), the CDC just had to chime in on social media, stating: “Long COVID is real and has affected millions of people across the U.S.” Source. Yes, that would be the same CDC that was wrong on about a bajillion other things, like the jab and its products staying at the injection site, and only for a few days, and causing no damage at all, then quietly scrubbing their website as this all became obvious misinformation.
